Stourbridge BID - Putting Stourbridge on the map

Stourbridge Business Improvement District (BID) successfully delivered the creation and installation of a new promotional advertising board designed to celebrate everything that makes Stourbridge a unique destination to live, work, visit and invest.

Positioned at one of the town's most prominent gateway locations at Stourbridge Glass Museum on the A491, the board provides year-round promotion for Stourbridge, showcasing its vibrant business community, independent retailers, hospitality venues, cultural attractions and visitor experiences. It also celebrates the town's internationally recognised glassmaking heritage, reflecting the craftsmanship, innovation and creativity that have defined Stourbridge for more than 400 years.

The strategic location of the advertising board maximises its promotional impact, with more than 7.3 million vehicle movements passing the site each year. This exceptional level of exposure provides continuous destination marketing, ensuring thousands of commuters, visitors and residents are reminded of everything Stourbridge has to offer every day. By promoting the town at such a high-profile gateway location, the project helps raise awareness of Stourbridge's unique business, leisure and cultural offer while encouraging more people to visit and explore the town centre.

A key feature of the installation is its celebration of Stourbridge's rich glassmaking legacy, recognising the industry that established the town as a world-renowned centre of excellence in glass production. The board highlights the town's distinctive heritage while promoting the modern and diverse business community that continues to make Stourbridge a thriving destination. By combining history with contemporary place marketing, the installation presents a compelling visual identity that reflects both Stourbridge's proud past and its ambitious future.

Stourbridge BID extends its sincere thanks to Stourbridge Glass Museum for providing the opportunity to deliver this project within such an important heritage setting. Their support and collaboration have further strengthened the excellent working relationship between the BID and one of the town's most valued stakeholders and partners. This successful partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to promoting Stourbridge, preserving its unique heritage and encouraging more people to discover the town's exceptional cultural, retail and hospitality offer.

The project demonstrates Stourbridge BID's ongoing commitment to investing in high-quality place marketing initiatives that celebrate local heritage, strengthen partnerships, support businesses and enhance Stourbridge's reputation as a vibrant destination. Through projects such as this, the BID continues to showcase the town to millions of potential visitors each year while reinforcing a strong sense of pride in Stourbridge's unique identity.
