St Thomas' Church Public Gardens - New Planters
Stourbridge Business Improvement District (BID) has successfully delivered an improvement project at the public gardens of St Thomas’ Church, enhancing a well-used green space for the benefit of the local community, businesses and visitors.
Funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the project focused on upgrading key features within the gardens to improve their appearance and usability. Two existing planters, which had significantly deteriorated and were in urgent need of replacement, were removed and replaced with new, high-quality wooden planters.
The project was managed and overseen by Stourbridge BID, ensuring efficient delivery and strong community involvement. Students from King Edward VI College played an important role in bringing the project to life. They supported the removal of existing plants—many of which were carefully reused—and helped plant the new displays, contributing to a refreshed and vibrant garden space.
The addition of the new planters and planting scheme has introduced a welcome splash of colour, helping to create a more attractive and inviting environment. This not only enhances the experience for those who spend time in the gardens but also contributes positively to the overall look and feel of the town centre.
This project demonstrates Stourbridge BID’s continued commitment to delivering meaningful improvements to shared spaces, while fostering collaboration with local partners and engaging young people in community-focused initiatives.
