Stourbridge BID - Autumn Winter Planting
Stourbridge Business Improvement District (BID) has successfully delivered a town-wide planting project, enhancing the appearance of Stourbridge throughout the autumn and winter months and ensuring a continued display of colour into early spring.
Made possible through UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) support, the project marked the first time in several years that the town has benefited from a coordinated autumn and winter planting scheme. Over 300 primroses and polyanthus were installed across key locations, helping to maintain a vibrant and welcoming environment during traditionally quieter seasonal periods.
The project was managed by Stourbridge BID and delivered in partnership with Stourbridge In Bloom, whose expertise and dedication played a key role in the successful implementation. Together, they ensured that planting was carefully selected and positioned to maximise visual impact, with early spring blooms extending the town’s seasonal appeal.
As a result, Stourbridge has maintained a consistent “wash of colour” across the town centre, enhancing the experience for residents, visitors and local businesses alike. The improved streetscape has attracted positive feedback from the community and has also drawn recognition from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), encouraging the town to once again consider entering national Britain in Bloom competitions.
This project demonstrates Stourbridge BID’s commitment to investing in year-round improvements, working collaboratively with local partners to create an attractive, vibrant town centre that people can take pride in.
